Remember Nickelodeon and Polygon Pictures’ Akihabara@Deep? No? That’s because it was never released. Back in 2006, the duo announced an adaptation of Ira Ishida’s novel about traveling otaku trying to solve problems in Akihabara. To the shock of no one, trying to make a property about otaku culture into something palatable for western kids was hard. Before it got axed, Ippei Gyoubu created some character art (above).
